By Joan. La Boqueria is the market I would send you to and not the one where I do my own shopping, and I think both of those can be true at the same time. Get there before 10 AM or do not bother.
About La Boqueria Market
Barcelona's best known food market sits just off Las Ramblas, with over 300 stalls of jamon, seafood, fruit juice and Catalan cheese. The two tapas bars inside that are worth a wait are El Quim and Bar Pinotxo, both over 80 years old. Come early if you want to see a market working instead of a market being photographed, or book a guided food tour if you would rather have someone explain the stalls, the prices and which products are actually regional. It is closed on Sundays, and that catches out more visitors than anything else on this page.
